The return of the Roxanne Shante

It seems the original queen of female rap is back, and she trying her hand at electronic music.
Roxanne Shante was big back in the 80s at just 14 years old with hits like “Roxanne’s Revenge” & “Go On Girl“. She was working with Big Daddy Kane and dissing other female rappers like Queen Latifah & MC Lyte on tracks back when I was still in diapers.
Now Basement Jaxx have released “Make Me Sweat“, a banging club track featuring her & Missy Elliot.
There is also a hardcore rave track floating around by Mekon on which Ms. Shante lends her voice to.

Its intriguing to see all of these big name music producers and artists making a switch to a more electronic style of music.
A sign of the things to come? I assume that if the artists (the opinion leaders) make the transition so too will main stream radio stations, music based TV programs, clubbers and general music listeners.
